Butter Garlic Mushrooms – Sauteed Mushrooms Glazed With Garlic Butter

Butter Garlic Mushrooms are the perfect side dish, where mushrooms are sautéed in garlic butter with a dash of lemon juice for an extra kick of flavour. Sautéed Mushrooms, in a herb butter garlic sauce, has such a deliciously rich flavour. They are juicy and tender with a nice herby punch and the lemon lends a delightful, refreshing, and subtle zing. Your side dish game will never be the same. It’s ready in just minutes and pairs well with just about anything.

Butter Garlic Mushrooms Recipe:

Juicy, melt-in-your-mouth, buttery garlic mushrooms, taste irresistible, and are the best side dish! If you love mushrooms, then buttery glazed mushrooms are just for you! There’s no better way to cook mushrooms than with butter and garlic…sautéed mushrooms are seriously a flavoursome pan of goodness.

  • To make garlic butter mushrooms, firstly place the mushrooms in a bowl.

  • Wipe dry each mushroom with a damp kitchen towel to remove any dirt and then lightly rinse under running water. Dab them dry.

  • Then slice them in half and keep aside.

  • Finely chop 1 large onion and fresh coriander leaves. Mince the garlic.

  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat. The butter-olive oil combo imparts a lovely flavour to the dish.

  • Put in the chopped onions and sauté for about 2-3 minutes on medium high.

  • Cook till the onions soften and lightly brown.

  • Now drop in the sliced mushrooms.

  • Toss to coat all the mushrooms with the onion-butter-olive oil mixture.

  • Let them sit in this mixture for about a minute or two, without stirring, so that they brown on one side. The mushrooms will start to release their juices.

  • Then sauté the mushrooms over medium-high. After about 5 minutes and once they get a nice golden colour on them, add the chopped garlic and mix well.

  • Sauté for a minute or so until garlic is fragrant.

  • Season with salt and pepper.

  • Add chilli flakes and combine well.

  • When the liquid is cooked out, turn off the heat and sprinkle fresh lemon juice. Toss well.

  • Garnish with coriander leaves.

  • Remove sauteed mushrooms from heat and transfer to a serving dish.

  • Serve Butter Garlic Mushrooms with Jeera Rice or pasta.

Sauteed Mushrooms In Butter Garlic Sauce

Garlicky, buttery mushrooms are unbelievably irresistible. They are an amazing side dish, so easy to prepare and cook! And they smell so good while cooking. A sprinkling of freshly chopped coriander really adds a lovely touch of colour and a dash of lime gives a fresh flavour.

Ingredients

  • 400 grams mushrooms
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 ½ tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

  • For sautéed mushrooms recipe, firstly wipe clean the mushrooms with a damp kitchen towel. Then place the mushrooms in a colander and rinse them until any dirt washes away. Then pat the mushrooms dry.
  • Heat butter and oil in a large pan over medium high.
  • Once the butter has melted, add the onions and sauté till they become soft and translucent.
  • Next add the mushrooms and toss with all the ingredients. Allow the mushrooms to sit in the mixture, without stirring, for 1-2 minutes.
  • Now cook over medium-high, while stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms turn golden brown and tender, about 5 minutes. The mushrooms will release a lot of liquid.
  • Stir in the garlic and cook for a minute or two.
  • Season with salt, pepper and red chilli flakes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid dries out and the mushrooms are tender.
  • Turn off the heat and add a dash of lime juice. Combine well.
  • Sprinkle with coriander and remove.
  • Serve sautéed mushrooms in garlic butter as side with rice or over pizza or pasta.
