Cucumber Raita

The flavors blend well together in this Indian kheera raita. It’s cool-tasting and the raw grated cucumber gives it a nice crunch. Yogurt with cucumber dip comes together quite quickly and it goes well with just about anything. The cucumber dip is yummy all by itself and very enjoyable to eat.

Cucumber Raita Recipe Step By Step:

Cucumber dahi raita is a fast, easy and delicious recipe. This yummy cucumber dip works great with chips or veggie sticks. The thick and creamy cucumber yogurt sauce for Indian food strikes a cooling balance for hot, fiery dishes. All in all, an amazing Indian condiment.

  • To make kheera ka raita, firstly wash, peel and grate the cucumber using a grater.

  • Then, take fresh yogurt in a bowl and beat till smooth.

  • Sprinkle salt, cumin powder and red chilli powder on the whipped curd. Mix well till all the spices are well blended with the whisked curd. (You can add a pinch of sugar to balance out the flavours).

  • Tip in the grated cucumber and chopped coriander leaves. (You can add some mint leaves too).

  • Combine all the ingredients. The dip should be of medium consistency, neither too thick nor too runny. I did not add any water to the raita as the grated keera releases a lot of water.
  • Pop the cucumber dip into the refrigerator to allow all the flavours to blend well.
  • Serve chilled Cucumber yogurt dip as a side with Vegetable Biryani or parathas and sabzi.
