Ingredients

For Bread:

  • 8 slices of bread
  • ¾ cup water

For the batter:

  • 3/4 cup suji
  • ½ cup rice flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp water
  • 1/8 tsp cooking soda
  • 6 tsp oil

Instructions

  • For this easy dosa recipe, take 8 bread slices and cut the edges.
  • Slice each bread slice into 4 and transfer into a bowl.
  • Pour 3/4 cup water and mash the bread slices. Keep aside.
  • In the meantime, take rice flour and semolina in a mixie jar and just dry grind.
  • Then add about ¾ cup water and blend well.
  • Next add the soaked slices of bread to the mixie jar and blend well with the suji and rice flour.
  • Now add salt and about 6 tablespoons of water and blend again to a smooth batter consistency. Remove into a bowl and leave aside for 10-15 minutes. The batter should be of pouring consistency.
  • Now heat a non-stick pan. Drizzle a little water on top and wipe with a tissue.
  • Then, keeping the pan over low heat, take a round ladleful of the dosa batter and pour onto the tava. Using the back of the ladle, spread the batter in a circular motion.
  • Let the bread dosa cook for a minute and then drizzle a teaspoon of oil or ghee all along the edges and on top of the dosa.
  • Once the underside of the dosa becomes a crisp golden brown, flip the dosa over and let cook for 15 seconds.
  • Then fold the dosa in half and remove onto a plate.
  • Make the remaining dosas in the same way, ensuring the batter is of pouring consistency; otherwise, add a few teaspoons of water to dilute the batter.
  • Serve Instant Bread Dosa with coconut chutney or sambar.
