Cucumber juice with its high water content is a great diuretic. Raw cucumber or keera juice is a good source of dietary fibre and Vitamin A. Drinking fresh juice made with cucumber helps control diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol.

Cucumber Cooler is a beauty cum detox drink – the detox cleansing juice is light and mildly flavoured. It’s the perfect green drink to kick-start your day. Plain keera juice may taste bland but once you add lemon juice and mint, you have a really refreshing, healthy and tasty cooler.

  • To make this fresh and minty cucumber lemon drink, pick the freshest, brightly coloured keera with firm skin. Wash and peel the keera skin. Next, chop the peeled cucumber.
  • Also wash and pick the mint leaves.
  • Then toss the keera pieces, mint leaves, salt, pepper, sugar and water into a mixer.

  • Blend the ingredients for 1-2 minutes to get the perfect consistency.

  • After this, place a mesh strainer over a larger bowl and pour the blended juice through it. Use a spoon to swirl it around so that you get smooth cucumber juice and any chunky bits are left behind.

Ingredients

  • Cucumber – 1 small
  • Mint leaves – 4-5
  • Salt - ¼ tsp
  • Sugar – 1 ½ tbsp
  • Black pepper - ¼ tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • For this cucumber drink, wash and peel the cucumber. Chop into small cubes.
  • Wash and pick mint leaves.
  • Put the chopped cucumber, mint leaves, pepper, salt and sugar in a blender and make a puree.
  • Pour the puree through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher. Use a spatula to press out the juice from solids.
  • Mix in the lime juice. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • Serve chilled cucumber cooler over a bed of ice
